Rector

The Reverend George Silides
is a 1986 graduate of the General Theological Seminary in New York City with a Masters of Divinity. He was born in Fairbanks, the son of one-time state senator George Silides Sr. and church activist Ruth Ogburn. Father George has served in churches in New Jersey and California – including as a chaplain at St. Paul's Episcopal School in Oakland. In Alaska, he was co-vicar with his wife, the Reverend Hunter Silides, of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Fort Yukon. He then served as the bishop's staff Officer for Stewardship and Development for the Diocese of Alaska in Fairbanks, prior to accepting the call as rector to Holy Trinity in November 2004.

Parish Clergy

The Reverend Hunter Silides,
assistant to the rector, earned her Masters of Divinity from The Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California in 1992. She was a chaplain at the Cathedral School for Boys in San Francisco prior to moving to Alaska. In Fort Yukon, Mother Hunter shared the vicarship of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Father George. While in Fairbanks, she was vicar of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Nenana, then became an Associate Pastor at Fairbanks Lutheran Church. In 2011, she earned a Masters of Art in Teaching Secondary English and began teaching at Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau.

The Reverend A. Wilson Valentine III,
assistant to the rector, graduated from Bexley Hall in Rochester, New York in 1991 after completing a Masters of Divinity. He was rector of St. Brendan's Episcopal Church in Juneau for seven years prior to becoming an at-home-Dad in 2000. More recently, Father Wilson has become the Priest-in-Charge of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Wrangell, serving one long weekend each month while continuing to live in Juneau. He also serves as back-up chaplain for Hospice and Home Care of Juneau.
